Good
First of all, the location was amazing. The Shinjuku station is 6mins walking distance from the hotel, and from there, one could pretty much go anywhere. The services in the hotel were excellent and the staff was friendly. I particularly liked the breakfast. There is also a easy to use laundry room that is really helpful. The beds were comfy.
There were truly many good things, but the room we stayed at was truly small and there was no air in it. I lived in Japan for years and stayed in many hotels so I am used to small spaces, but this room truly felt like the smallest I’ve ever been in. I do however think I might have had this impression because this time I traveled with my partner and we are both very tall (he is 195cm and I am 185cm +plus our luggage that did take up some space). Anyhow, the small space might have even been bearable if only we were able to opened the window. The window was locked and only the staff had the key for opening it, and so this really made the room feel even more claustrophobic. The AC had to be on constantly so we could have any feeling of air circulation and this naturally did not make it feel any better. Moreover, it made us catch a cold. Overall, we couldn’t sleep (even though the bed cushions were comfy) we couldn’t breathe properly, there was no space to put our luggage in.. Overall, not very romantic.

Great service, convenient location, very small room
The staff were very helpful and the hotel is a short walk from the centre of Kabukicho, so if you want to experience the night-life in Shinjuku, you can easily get there from here without having to worry about public transport. There are also plenty of convenience stores and food options within walking distance. It is a very lively area at night, we stayed on a high level and were not able to hear the noises from the streets at all which was really good. The rooms were cleaned every second day and we were given fresh towels and bottles of water every day which we really appreciated! Our booking didn't include breakfast, but we were able to pay for it one morning when we decided to try and the selection and quality of the food was great!
This was our first hotel in Japan and although I read that the room would be small, I was surprised that it was even smaller than I was expecting! Just be aware of this. The bathroom is tiny with the sink popping out into the shower. You will also likely have to bend down to wash your hair under the showerhead. The double bed takes up almost all of the floor space in the room, except for where the desk is. There is space under the bed for storage but our suitcases were too bulky for this, so we had to close them each time and stand them upright instead. You have to play tetris a little with the luggage in this case, especially when opening the bathroom door also. If you are just planning on sleeping in the room and being out the whole day, it is fine, but if you want some space and comfort you may have to look for a different hotel. In hindsight, we are not really into the night-life so should have gotten a bigger room further out of the city.
